Description
Nos 20 and 22 Eldon Road are a pair of houses built around 1840 to 1858, likely designed by Henry or Nathaniel Briant. Constructed from Bath stone ashlar, they feature rusticated quoins, a cornice above the ground floor, and brackets at the eaves. The houses have a slate roof with a crested ridge and stand two and a half storeys tall. There are three pedimented dormers, with the central one being wider and spanning two bays. The outer bays on the first floor have four lights each, with moulded architraves and moulded mullions. The entrances are paired and have round-headed arches. The front garden wall is flanked by piers that are polygonal in shape and topped with crested capping, resembling those found in Eldon Square.
