Description
Nos 16 and 18 Eldon Road are a pair of houses built around the 1840s, likely by architects Henry or Nathaniel Briant. They are constructed from Bath stone ashlar and feature a hipped slate roof with stone eaves brackets. The buildings have rusticated quoins, a plinth, and a string course over the ground floor, which is adorned with a simplified guilloche ornamental frieze. Each house has a gabled dormer with a sash window and a modern multi-light dormer. The glazing bar sash windows are arranged in four ranges, with bracketed pediments above the ground floor windows and bracketed balconies. The entrance bays are set back; No 16 includes pilasters and a balustrade over a projecting porch, while No 18 features a two-storey porch with a round-headed doorway.
