Description
No. 3 Kingston Road is an 18th-century building featuring an ashlar stone front and a hipped pantiled roof. It stands three storeys high and has seven windows, which are double-hung sashes with glazing bars, except for those on the ground floor. The end windows on the ground floor are adorned with triangular pediments supported by moulded stone brackets. The building has a simple moulded cornice with a plain parapet, a plain string at the second-floor window sill level, and a heavy moulded and dentilled cornice at the second floor. Cut-stone brackets are positioned between the window architraves and both cornices.
The central doorway has a semi-circular head, a six-panelled door, and a fanlight. The door opening is heavily rusticated, featuring a triple keystone and imposts, with Tuscan half-columns that are rusticated with square blocks, an architrave, a plain frieze, and a moulded and dentilled cornice. To the right, there is a single-storey extension with a stone-tiled roof, which includes four windows, three-light casements with stone mullions, and flat dripmoulds.
No. 3, along with Nos. 6 and 9, and the section of wall and gatepiers at the Hall, form a group.
