Description
27 Silver Street is a mid to late 19th century building set back from the street line of Nos 28 and 29. It has three storeys and is constructed of ashlar with a pantiled roof. The building features projecting eaves and a gable-end to the left, which is supported on moulded brackets. There are two windows with plain architrave surrounds, although the sashes are missing their glazing bars. All windows are adorned with wrought-iron decorative balconettes. A large shop window is present, featuring a plain projecting fascia above and sub-divided glazing. To the left, there is a half-glazed door. This building is included for its group value with Nos 27 to 29, which form a group with No 2 Kingston Road, The Kings Arms Hotel, and Nos 2, 5, and 6 Coppice Hill, as well as all the listed buildings in the Shambles.
