Description
9 Kingston Road is a building from the 18th century and early 19th century featuring an ashlar frontage. It stands two storeys high and has six windows. The facade is divided into two sections; the right-hand unit projects slightly forward and includes three windows topped by a pediment with a circular window and glazing bars in the tympanum. The first-floor windows in this section are sash windows with glazing bars, framed by architrave surrounds and moulded sills supported by stone brackets.
On the ground floor, there is a square-headed doorway in the first bay from the left, which has an eight-panelled door and a fanlight, along with a pulvinated frieze and a segmental pediment on moulded stone brackets. To the right of the door are two windows, each with architrave surrounds and a continuous moulded sill that extends beneath both. The outer window features a pulvinated frieze and a segmental pediment on brackets, while the inner window has a triangular pediment. The building has a plinth course and five steps leading up to the door.
The left-hand unit of the facade has a moulded cornice and a plain parapet, with sash windows set in plain reveals and featuring glazing bars. Nos 3, 6, and 9, along with the section of wall and gatepiers at the Hall, form a group.
