Description

These are a pair of houses dating from the mid-19th century, built in the Italianate style characteristic of Eldon Square. The houses are two storeys high and have a stucco exterior on a brick core. A decorative band runs above the ground floor. The roof is slate-covered with projecting eaves. There are four windows, including gabled end projections framing porches. The first floor has paired, narrow, round-headed sash windows, with a grooved panel in the centre. The ground floor has French casement windows opening onto a verandah between the projecting bays. The verandah features a cast iron guard, standards, and a tented canopy painted with alternating stripes. The end bays slightly project to accommodate round-headed doorways and windows above, each window topped with a dentil cornice and a pediment. The doorways are recessed.
