Description

Mid 19th century. 2-storey, 3-bay, symmetrical double villa with Jacobean details. Stugged, squared and snecked red sandstone. Base course. Moulded string course. Chamfered arrises. Shaped Jacobean pediment; hoodmoulds; eaves cornice.

W (MAIN) ELEVATION: symmetrical outer gables, projecting square window at ground, chamfered to canted window at 1st floor with ogee lead roof; shaped gable with corbelled stacks disguised as urn finials. At centre ground, round-headed doors, roll-moulded surround, flanking Venetian windows at centre with blind sidelights, narrow tripartite window at centre at 1st floor. Stair towers projecting at rear, that to left with round-arched window, that to right altered.

Plate glass timber sash and case windows, leaded etched glass on upper panes of 1st floor windows. Grey slate roof, lead flashings.

BOUNDARY WALL: low stugged and squared rubble wall with ashlar coping.
