Description

Seaview is a mid-19th century, two-storey, three-bay villa located on Shore Road in Kilcreggan. The building features a rectangular plan and is constructed with rough harl, accented by polished sandstone margins and dressings, a base course, a string course, quoin strips, and advanced eaves with exposed rafters.

The main (west) elevation displays three near-symmetrical bays. There are steps leading up to a pilastered and pedimented doorcase at the center, which contains a four-panelled door and a six-pane fanlight above. To the right is a canted window, while to the left is a slightly advanced corniced window, both featuring six-pane sash and case windows. The first floor has windows that are symmetrically arranged, and there are three canted timber dormers, which are also slate-hung and symmetrically disposed.

On the north elevation, there is a gable with a door at the center of the ground floor, a window above it, and a round-headed window at the gablehead. There is an additional window to the outer right on the first floor.

The east (rear) elevation consists of four asymmetrical bays with various openings, including a boarded, piend-roofed porch that is off-center to the right. The main elevation features four-pane, plate glass timber sash and case windows, while the rear elevation has 12-lying-pane timber sash and case windows.

There are outbuildings at the rear of the house, including a single-storey, rectangular-plan structure made of rubble with partial harl and red sandstone margins and dressings, topped with a galvanised roof. Additionally, there is a single-storey and attic rectangular-plan block built into the rising ground to the left of the house, constructed of rubble with pink sandstone margins and featuring advanced eaves and exposed rafters.

The property is enclosed by a boundary wall made of rubble with partial harl, which has considerable ivy growth, and topped with ashlar caps.
