Roscombe, Shore Road, Kilcreggan

Roscombe is a mid-19th century single-storey and attic cottage villa with a symmetrical rectangular plan. It features sandstone ashlar with moulded margins and dressings, while the side and rear elevations are harled. The building has a base course and slightly projecting eaves.

The south elevation, which serves as the entrance, has three bays. There is a door at the center with a wooden round-headed canopy supported by consoles, a plate-glass fanlight, and a panelled door, along with a modern vestibule door. Above, there is a segmental-headed, eyelet dormer. The ground floor has flanking canted bays with a decorative cast-iron parapet or window guard. The gabled attic storey breaks the eaves and features round-headed windows, an impost band, and channelled voussoirs in a pointed arch panel with a keystone.

The building has uPVC windows and a grey slate roof with lead flashings. The squat corniced stacks have tall battered, corniced cans.

The interior was not seen in 1993. The boundary wall is made of whinstone with harl pointing and has boulder coping.
