Description
The War Memorial in Christie Park, Alexandria, is an early 20th-century cenotaph made of ashlar stone. It features a battered, tapering design set on a plinth of steps. Names of the fallen are inscribed on slate panels on the east and north elevations.
On the south elevation, the memorial reads: "For the glory of God and in the memory of the men of Bonhill Parish who gave their lives in the Great War (1914-1919) and the World War 1939-45)." The memorial has a blocking pediment with triangulated coping and a Celtic Cross motif on the sides.
