Description
The Treslothan War Memorial is a war memorial built in the 1920s, made of white granite ashlar. It is situated on a very wide raked octagonal deck, featuring a base of five octagonal steps leading up to an octagonal plinth. Atop the plinth is a tall rectangular shaft that supports a shaped cross. Each of the four cardinal sides of the plinth has a large raised rectangular panel with inlaid metal lettering. The east side bears the inscription: "TO THE GLORY OF GOD AND IN HONOURED MEMORY OF THE MEN OF THIS PARISH WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES IN THE GREAT WAR 1914-1919 LEST WE FORGET," while the other panels list seven names each. Additionally, the foot of the shaft has added lettering commemorating the war of 1939-1945, with 24 names inscribed around its base.
