Description
The top of a Cornish cross is mounted next to the chancel wall of the Church of St John the Evangelist in Camborne. This medieval cross is made of granite and is of the wheelhead type. It stands approximately 80 centimeters high, with a shaft that is 21 centimeters wide and a head that measures 48 centimeters in diameter. The front features a raised figure of Christ set in a sunk panel, while the back displays a raised Latin cross. Originally, this cross was mounted on a hedge at Killivose crossroads, was removed to Pendarves around 1888, and was relocated to its current site in 1955.
