Description

Treslothan Old Farm is a farmhouse, now a house, that was likely built around 1845 by George Wightwick of Plymouth for the Pendarves estate. It is constructed from uncoursed granite rubble with granite quoins and dressings, topped with a slate roof. The building has a double-pile plan beneath a two-span roof and is designed in a simplified Tudor style.

The farmhouse is two storeys high and features a plinth. The north facade has two gabled bays, with the second bay set back slightly. At the ground floor, there are two large square windows with chamfered surrounds, wooden mullions, and transoms, creating six lights with diamond leaded glazing. Above these, there are two-light windows, and the gables are adorned with copings and kneelers. On the east side, there is a large full-height single-storey gabled porch that has a central door flanked by single-light windows, which also feature similar glazing. The rear and interior of the building have not been inspected.

Historically, this farmhouse is likely part of the rebuilding of Treslothan as a model village by E.W.W. Pendarves between 1840 and 1845, although it is located about a quarter of a mile away from the main village.
