Description

No. 27 Dover Street is a building dating from around 1830 to 1840. It has two storeys and a basement, with a rendered and painted exterior. The building is flanked by panelled pilasters on a plinth. It features a low-pitched hipped slate roof with a conical section over a bow and wide eaves. There is a band between the storeys. The façade includes four windows, with two recessed sash windows featuring intact glazing bars in the bow to the north. The porch has been altered in the later 19th century, with a side window added and a narrow recessed door that has ornate cast iron grilles on the panels. The flanking pilasters are panelled at the top and support a projecting cornice. The entablature of the original porch remains above.
