Description

The Long Cottage is a villa dating to approximately 1830. It is constructed of stucco and has a low-pitched slate roof with an eaves cornice and a band separating the ground and first floors. Originally, it had four window bays, with two windows arranged in a shallow bow extending through both storeys. The windows are sash, with the exception of the French windows on the bow, which retain their original glazing bars and block sills. A honeysuckle balcony is situated on the first floor of the bow. The building forms a group with numbers 34 to 58 (even) on Dover Street and number 1 Wood Street.
