Description

No. 38 on Dover Street is a building that dates back to the 18th century. It is similar in style to No. 36, but features a parapet and cornice that have been restained in plain cement rendering. The glazing bars on the windows are intact, and the upper panel of the door is glazed. The entrance steps are adorned with a mid-19th century cast iron balustrade, which showcases an inverted and upright lyre pattern with a central rosette. This building, along with Nos. 34 to 38 (even) and No. 1 Wood Street, forms a cohesive group.
