Description

The railings and gate piers of No 31 on Dover Street date from the Victorian period. They feature a low brick wall that curves around down Melville Street, topped with railings that have fleur de lis heads. The entrance is marked by square section wrought iron gate piers, which have scrolled panels and four balls at the corners. The scrolls that support spike finials are likely a later addition, as the piers are similar to those at No 11 Vernon Square, which include an overthrow.
