Description
No. 13 Belvedere Street is a building dating from around 1840 to 1850. It is two storeys high with a semi-basement and is faced with coursed stone that mimics brickwork, featuring rusticated quoins. The roof is a low-pitched hipped slate design with projecting eaves, and lion heads are placed along the guttering. The building has four windows, two of which are in a bow shape facing south. These windows are recessed, feature sash frames with later glazing bars, and are surrounded by architrave with block sills.
A flight of eight steps, flanked by rendered parapets and capped piers, leads up to an enclosed porch with a pediment. The sides of the porch have blind recessed windows. The recessed door to the porch consists of two full-length fielded panels with a rectangular fanlight above. This door is flanked by stepped pilasters with beading that lead to Tuscan capitals, and there are additional pilasters on the wall. The frieze features beading and an egg and dart moulding along the cornice.
