Description
No. 21 Barfield Road is a building dating from around 1830. It is two storeys tall with a rough cast front that features 14 stucco strips running the full height of the house, which may have been added later. The roof is a low pitch hipped slate roof with projecting eaves. The front has three windows, with two in a shallow bow to the left. The windows are recessed sash with intact glazing bars on the ground floor right, and have plain stucco surrounds along with block and moulded sills. There is a balcony above the bow window and another above the right-hand first floor window, both featuring a honeysuckle pattern.
The entrance faces south and includes three windows, with the central one having intact glazing bars. There is also a narrow round-headed window placed near the corner between the stucco strips. The central porch has Doric columns and pilasters, and the wall of the porch is now glazed.
