Description
Thanet House and Rendlesham are a pair of houses built around 1840, located on the west side of Vernon Square. They are three storeys high with a semi-basement and each house has four windows. The façades are stuccoed and form a gentle curve, featuring three windows each with one window in between. Each floor has a cornice and a parapet above. The windows are set in moulded surrounds and retain their original glazing bars. The houses have recessed doorways that are accessed by seven steps, flanked by coupled columns and pilasters, topped with a joint entablature. The doorways feature low rectangular fanlights and three-panel moulded doors. Nos 4 to 9 form a group.
