Description

Gray Lodge is a house dating to circa 1840, constructed over two storeys with an attic and a semi-basement. It originally featured three windows, with one dormer window. The front facade is rendered with cement, but is now largely obscured by Virginian creeper. The building has wide, overhanging eaves and a slate roof. The windows are set within moulded surrounds with sills, and retain their original glazing bars. A substantial porch with quarter-fluted columns leads up three steps. The garden front displays a wide elliptical bow incorporating three windows, rising to an additional storey topped with a half-conical roof. A verandah with a slate roof runs along the ground floor of the garden front.
