Description

The railings and gate piers of No. 3 Vernon Square date from the mid 19th century. The railings are made of cast iron and are set on a low brick wall that faces Vernon Square, extending to the rear of the house along Wood Street. The gate is flanked by cast iron panels that feature wrought iron scrollwork, topped with spikes supported by scrolls, which may have replaced an earlier overthrow.
