Description
Circa 1840s, this is a large, three-story villa built with stucco facing. It has a low-pitched slate roof with wide eaves, and a cornice and frieze to the ground and first floors, set above a plinth. The front elevation originally featured two windows on the second floor, with recessed two-light casements and glazing bars. The other floors had three windows, with a shallow, two-story bow to the east, featuring a terrace above. The sash windows retain their original glazing bars on the ground floor, and are framed by architraves. One ground-floor window on the west is tripartite, with Doric pilasters and an entablature. The first-floor windows are each accompanied by scrolled iron balconies, while the terrace above the bow sits over the second floor. Short screen walls flank the front, extending up to the first floor, and feature a lean-to roof with coping containing blind, round-headed niches. A two-story wing projects from the east side, with two sash windows to the main block. A Doric pilastered porch with entablature and blocking course leads to a modern recessed glazed door, approached by a flight of six steps with rendered parapets. Above the porch is a rectangular bay with its own entablature and blocking course, containing a recessed sash window with intact glazing bars. A two-story extension is located to the rear on the west side.
