Description

No 45 Melville Street is a semi-detached house that was originally built as a large house in 1851. It stands three storeys tall on a plinth and features a rough cast exterior. The roof is a low pitch hipped slate with overhanging eaves and a frieze below. The building retains its original recessed sash windows with glazing bars and block sills. A fine Anthemion balcony supported by brackets is located above the first-floor window. On the west side, which was originally the garden front, there are three windows. To the left, a two-storeyed wing projects with a bowed end, highlighted by giant pilasters, a frieze cornice, and a parapet, topped with a flat roof.
