Description

Wyndham House is a circa 1830 building of three storeys, situated on Melville Street. It has a symmetrical facade of three windows. The lower level is stuccoed and rusticated, while the upper levels are constructed of white brick. Stuccoed pilasters rise above the ground floor, with a coupled Doric and Ionic pilaster flanking the front and an Ionic pilaster between the windows. A cornice and parapet top the building. The windows are set within moulded stucco surrounds; those on the first floor have architraves, and the central one is also surmounted by a pediment. The ground floor windows are round-headed. A good Greek Doric porch features columns to the front pilasters, alongside a frieze with a Greek Key band and a blocking course.
