Description

The Cottage, The Crest is a pair of cottages located in Freshwater. Hill Crest, likely built in the 18th century, features stone rubble construction that is colourwashed. It has a thatched roof with an end brick chimneystack and is 1 and a half storeys high, with two windows, two 19th-century dormers, and two triple casement windows. There is also a modern weather porch. The Cottage, an early 19th-century addition, is constructed from colourwashed stone rubble as well but is of a higher elevation. It has a thatched roof with one brick chimneystack and is two storeys tall with one window, featuring one casement and a wooden weather porch on the left side. There is a mid-19th-century addition to the left of the lower elevation, which includes a triple casement window.
