Description

Sussex Cottage is a house from the early 19th century that has been altered. It is constructed of stuccoed stone, with the ground floor designed to look like stone through incised detailing. The roof is hipped and covered with Welsh slate, featuring two cemented stacks. The building has two storeys and two windows, with 16-pane sash windows set in reveals. There is a band between the floors, and the central entrance has a round-headed doorcase with a semi-circular fanlight above a four-panelled door. The rear of the house has sash windows similar to those at the front. Inside, there are four-panel doors, a straight-flight staircase with a closed string, stick balusters, and turned newels, along with plain fireplaces.
