Description
Numbers 17 and 17A are a pair of terraced houses built around 1825, located in Norfolk Square, Brighton. The houses are constructed of stucco and feature a roof that is obscured by a parapet. They rise three storeys above a basement and have a four-window range. The ground floor is decorated with banded rustication, and there is a round-arched entrance to the left, which likely served as a former passage entrance. The main house entrance is flat-arched and includes an overlight. All the windows are flat-arched, with a full-height segmental bay to the right.
On the first floor, there is a bracketed balcony with cast-iron railings, while the left side has blank windows on the first and second floors. A storey band separates the floors, and the windows are sashes of original design. The building features a cornice and parapet, with stacks positioned at the party walls. The interior has not been inspected. The steps and area are adorned with cast-iron railings that have spearhead finials.
