Description
These three terraced houses, numbers 45, 46, and 47, were built around 1830. The attic dormers were replaced in the 20th century. The houses are stucco-faced over brickwork and have steeply pitched slate roofs and rendered chimneys. They stand at the end of the terrace, abutting number 4 (which is not included in the listing) to the north, and number 47 returns to Ivy Place.
Each house is three storeys tall plus an attic, and has a basement. They each have three bays with two-bay bow fronts, and an entrance to the left. The roofs are topped with a moulded parapet above which are flat-roofed attic dormers. The ground floor is rusticated, and the sash windows have moulded surrounds. The second floor windows have 9 panes, the first floor windows have large 6-pane sashes, and the ground floor windows have 12 panes. There are individual cast-iron balconies to the first-floor windows. The entrances have a square head and a rectangular fanlight, with 20th-century entrance doors. Cast-iron railings extend from the entrances along the street frontage, including gates leading to the basement area.
