Description
Ye Old Forge is a house dating from the late 17th century, with alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed of red brick in a Flemish bond pattern, with an old tile gabled roof. The building has a long, rectangular plan.
It is a single-storey structure with an attic, and features a chimney on the left gable. The windows are 20th-century leaded casements. The south-east facing front has a central gable with a projecting, enclosed entrance porch. Flanking the gable are single-light windows, with two smaller windows above. A clock, dated 1698, is positioned in the gable, and sits above a bell turret. To the left of the gable are two three-light windows, and to the right are three windows, arranged as 2:1 and 3-lights. All windows on this front have wooden lintels. The clock was originally located in the tower of the Church of St Mary, on Church Lane in Winkfield. The interior of the house has not been inspected.
