Description

Walnut Tree Cottage is a house dating from the early 18th century, with extensions added in the late 18th century and late 20th century. The building features a mix of painted brick in Flemish bond and painted render, topped with an old tile gabled roof.

It has a rectangular double depth plan and stands two storeys high with a parapet. The exterior includes projecting end chimneys with offsets, corniced heads, and clay pots. The sash windows, which have glazing bars, are topped with gauged brick arched heads. The original entrance front is on the garden side (south-east), but the current entrance is located on the north-west front within a 20th-century extension. This entrance is symmetrical and slightly left of centre, consisting of three bays and a six-panelled door, with the top four panels glazed, set within a 20th-century doorcase that features a pediment. The interior has not been inspected.
