Description
The buildings around Stable Court to the east of Fernhill Park are stables, grooms, and service accommodation that have been converted into garages, stores, and staff accommodation. They date from the early 18th century and were altered and extended in the late 19th century and mid-20th century.
The buildings are constructed of red brick in Flemish bond and feature plain tiled hipped and gabled roofs. The layout is rectangular, enclosing a courtyard with an entry on the southeast. The exterior consists of single and one-and-a-half storeys, with a moulded eaves cornice. There are 19th and 20th-century casement windows with segmental arches above the windows and doors. A notable central feature is a two-storey section with a pediment and a clock, along with a louvered cupola on the right wing. The interior has not been inspected.
