GV II

Large house, now offices. Early C19, extended late C19 and altered C20. MATERIALS: red brick in Flemish bond, hipped slate roof. PLAN: rectangular plan with extensions at side and rear. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys. Several chimneys with corniced heads and Doulton pots. Sash windows with glazing bars, some with later cement, shouldered architraves, stone sills. Garden front, north-east, 4-bays with single bay extension on right. Sash windows on first floor and later long sash windows on ground floor. Outer windows on each floor in original build are in shallow rounded bays, full height of building. Entrance now on north-east return front and has C20 curved hood with C20 double, panelled doors. INTERIOR: open well staircase with barley-twist newels, moulded handrail and closed string with moulded tread ends.
