Description
The Old Butchers Shop, likely built in the late 18th century, is located adjacent to number 76 on Wood Street in Walthamstow, E17. This single-storey building features weatherboarding and a pitched pantiled roof that extends to create an overhanging canopy. The shop front is positioned on the right side, with a tiled stall-riser and a plate glass window, and an entrance to the right. On the left side, there is a meat store with a central entrance and a slatted screen for ventilation. The roof has a painted fascia board that reads "C Jones Family Butchers Estd 1750." This shop is a rare survival from its time.
