Description

Eight pairs of gatepiers, arranged in four groups, are located in the forecourt to the south of Walthamstow Civic Centre. These gatepiers were built between 1937 and 1942 by architect P D Hepworth and are made of Portland stone. They feature moulded sides with cornices, and the inner pairs are connected by low walls. The gatepiers were designed as an integral part of the Civic Centre.
