Description

This is a row of early 19th century villas located at 71 to 75 Greenwich South Street. Originally designed as three-window villas, the first-floor centre windows have been blocked, and all traces of the windows have been removed from numbers 73 and 75. Each villa has two storeys and a basement. They feature low-pitched, hipped roofs with swept slate coverings and eaves soffits. The fronts are constructed of multicoloured stock brick, with stucco finishes. The windows are sash windows with glazing bars, and have plain reveals. Each villa has a round-headed door opening recessed in a round arch; five steps lead to a six-panel door, which has a reeded cornice head and a plain fanlight above. Number 71 has a Tuscan prostyle porch. Numbers 71 to 75 form a group with numbers 77 to 85.
