Description
Nos. 1 to 6 Egerton Drive form a group of villas dating from around 1830 to 1840. Each villa is two storeys high with a sunken basement and three windows. They have low-pitched, hipped slate roofs with end chimneys and eaves soffits. The walls are built of multi-coloured stock brick, although No. 3 has been colourwashed. Recessed sash windows with glazing bars are topped with gauged, flat, yellow brick arches. The central first-floor windows of Nos. 2, 3, and 4 have been blocked and stuccoed. Each villa has a round-headed door opening recessed within a round arch, leading to a four- or six-panel door. The doors are topped with reeded cornice heads and fanlights; Nos. 4 and 6 have patterned fanlights. All but No. 3 have heavy, prostyle Ionic porches, featuring wreaths in the frieze above the columns.
