Description
This is an early 18th-century pair of buildings located on the east side of Greenwich South Street. The buildings have been altered since their original construction. They are two storeys and an attic in height, with two windows each. The roofs are slate mansard roofs and incorporate a square dormer. The front of the buildings is stuccoed, with a parapet along the top. Canted bay windows, shaped as five sides, extend through two floors on the outer side of each building, although they are lower than the parapet and have a modified entablature at the top. Each bay contains three sash windows on both floors. A pair of six-panel doors is situated in the centre, set well back behind a flat entablature surround. Above each door is a narrow window. The rear elevation is constructed of multicoloured brick, with a low-pitched slate roof. It features five windows, all sash windows with glazing bars, set within gauged brick arches. There are three lunettes at the top of the rear elevation, the central one being blocked. Ground floor additions have been made. Numbers 83 and 85 are designated as a group value with numbers 71 to 81 (odd) on Greenwich South Street.
