Description
No. 91 on Greenwich South Street is an early 18th-century house that stands three storeys tall with a basement and features three windows. It has a high-pitched roof that is now slated at the front and covered with modern pantiles at the back, although a small section of the original pantile remains. The building is constructed from multicoloured stock brick and has a parapet. Most of the upper two floors were rebuilt after suffering war damage, which resulted in the loss of the gauged brick window arches, although these arches still exist on the ground floor. The sash windows are without bars and are set in near-flush moulded frames. The original front door has lower panels that are fielded and an upper section with four glazed panels, all within a moulded architrave. The doorcase features panelled pilasters, carved scrolled consoles, and a modillion cornice. Inside, there is a staircase dating from around 1700, which includes turned balusters, square newels, and a stout rail, along with original shouldered fireplaces.
