Description
Nos 136 and 138 on Greenwich High Road are a pair of late 18th century buildings. Each building has three storeys and a sunk basement, featuring two windows and one-storey door extensions. They are constructed from multicoloured stock brick and have a parapet along the top. A brick plinth supports the structure, and there are gauged flat brick arches above the recessed sash windows, which have glazing bars (some of which have been replaced, and those on the ground floor do not have bars) set in stucco-lined reveals. The entrances feature six-panel doors with cornice heads and plain fanlights, housed in well-crafted reproduction Doric doorcases that include attached columns and open pediments. There are modern extensions on the right and left sides that are designed in a style that is consistent with the original buildings.
