Description
No. 165 on Greenwich High Road is an early to mid-18th century house that stands three storeys high with an attic and features five windows. The left part of the building is slightly set back and has a red brick front. A stone frieze, dentil cornice, and blocking course conceal the roof of the left section. The right section has an early 19th-century mansard roof with two flat dormers. There are stone bands at the first-floor cills and at the first-floor level. The recessed sash windows, which have glazing bars (most of which have been renewed), are topped with gauged brick arches and set in stucco-lined reveals. The ground floor is rendered below the cills, with the left section having three windows. The entrance features a renewed door with four fielded panels, topped by a cornice head and a patterned rectangular fanlight, all within a moulded stone architrave. Above, there is a fluted frieze and a console bracketed dentil cornice. Nos. 165 to 169 (odd) form a group.
