Description

This is an early 18th century terrace of six houses, numbered 100 to 104, on Greenwich High Road. Each house is two storeys high with an attic and basement, and originally had three windows. The roofs have been renewed with a tiled mansard design, featuring a single square dormer. The frontages are of brown brick, though the upper parts and a tall parapet were rebuilt using pale brick after World War II. Horizontal bands are visible at the cornice level, the first-floor sill height, and a level just above the first floor. The first-floor windows have renewed sash windows set in near-flush box frames, with brick arches above them that are slightly cambered and gauged. The basement and ground-floor windows have been replaced with late 19th century canted bays, each containing three sashes. A set of five steps leads up to the replaced mid- to late 19th century front doors, each set within a doorcase featuring flat pilasters (the pilasters on No. 102 are fluted), an entablature with mutule cornices, and an open pediment. Nos 98 to 104 form a group.
