Description
Mr Fogg's Tavern is a corner public house located at 58 St. Martin's Lane in the City of Westminster. It was rebuilt in the late 18th century or early 19th century, with some mid-19th century and 20th-century alterations. The building features painted brick with stucco dressings and a slate roof.
It stands three storeys tall with a dormered mansard roof. There is one window facing St. Martin's Lane and three windows on the return to New Row. The ground floor has a public house frontage with a corner entrance framed by simplified pilasters and an entablature-fascia. The upper floors have recessed glazing bar sash windows set in stucco architraves. The windows on St. Martin's Lane are tripartite and are highlighted by a framework of pilaster strips and sill bands, with the entablature cut back to the parapet face.
This building is included for its group interest, particularly in relation to New Row.
