Description

Three lamp standards numbered 1, 2, and 3 are located on New Row in the City of Westminster. These lamp standards date from the early to late 19th century and are made of cast iron. Lamp standards 1 and 2 feature leaf baluster shafts and Nico lanterns from the early 19th century. They are notably constructed with reused bollard bases, with No. 1 having a cannon-type base and No. 2 featuring a rarer Greek Doric fluted column. Lamp standard 3 is a "Bradshaw column" from the late 19th century, also equipped with a Nico lantern and ladder bars. These lamp standards are included for their group value.
