Description

This is a terrace house with a shop, built around 1800, with an attic added between 1840 and 1850. The house is constructed of stock brick, with a concealed roof. It is five storeys high and three windows wide. The ground floor has a later 20th-century shop front, but retains some elements of a mid-19th-century frame. To the right of the shop front is the original doorway with a square head. The first to third floors have recessed sash windows with glazing bars, each set under a flat gauged arch. Stucco surrounds were added to the first-floor windows. The attic has square-headed panels containing casement windows recessed under flat gauged arches. There are brick dentil cornices around the third floor and the attic. The building is listed for group value as part of an early 19th-century terrace which forms part of the 1630s Bedford Estate development of Covent Garden.
