Description

No. 1 New Row is a terrace house and shop with origins dating to the 17th century or early 18th century, and it was refronted in the early 19th century. The building is constructed of red brick and features a tiled roof. It stands four storeys tall with a set-back mansard roof and is one window wide. The ground floor has an altered mid-20th century frontage beneath a deep stucco fascia, with recessed sash windows that sit under flat gauged arches. The building has a parapet with coping. It is included for its group interest in this street, which was laid out in the 1630s as part of the Bedford Estate Covent Garden development.
