Description

Nos 21 and 22 Leinster Square are a pair of houses dating from the mid-19th century. They are constructed of stucco, with the roof hidden. The houses are four storeys high, with an attic and basement, and each has a two-window frontage. The ground floor has channelling, while projecting Doric porches are present. A triglyph frieze runs across the ground floor. A continuous, bombé balcony extends across the first floor. The windows above the ground floor are architraved and corniced to the first and second floors. They are sash windows with plate glass, and the first floor windows are French casements. A dentil cornice sits above the third floor, and a subsidiary cornice is located at the attic level. Cast iron area railings are also present. The houses are an integral part of the planned layout of Leinster Square.
