Description

This is a grand terrace of houses located on the north side of Porchester Square, dating to around 1860. The buildings are constructed of stucco with slate mansard roofs and extend over four storeys plus a basement. Each house originally had two windows facing south. The end four houses and the central five project slightly, distinguished by rusticated quoins. The ground floor features channelling, and a continuous bombé balcony runs along the first floor. The windows have architraves, with rounded corners to those on the first floor, and cornices to both the first and second floors. The ground floor windows are accentuated by prominent keystones, and a dentil cornice sits above the third floor, topped by a parapet. The north facade is also notable, featuring two-storey projecting porches which serve as entrances.
