Description
A pair of semi-detached houses located at 36 and 38 Gloucester Gardens, and 36 and 38 Bishops Bridge Road, dating from the early to mid-19th century. The houses are constructed of stucco, with a roof that is not visible. Each house has a facade of four windows wide, incorporating a three-storey, three-bay central section, and a two-storey, one-window wing on either side. The central two bays of each house form a full-height segmental bow window. The ground floor between the bow windows projects forward and contains the entrances, which are square-headed with panelled, partly-glazed doors. The ground floor features channelled detailing. The windows are square-headed, with architraves above the ground floor. No. 38 has sash windows with glazing bars, while No. 36 has casement windows. The facade is finished with a console cornice and a parapet above the third floor.
