Description

Porchester Court is a mid-19th century terrace of houses located on the north side of Porchester Gardens in the City of Westminster. The buildings are constructed of stucco, and stand four storeys high with an attic and basement. Each house features three windows arranged closely together. The ground floor is characterised by channelling, while projecting Doric porches provide entrance points. The houses have panelled doors and square-headed windows on the ground and third floors. Other windows are round-headed, grouped in triplets with shafting between them; the first and second floor triplets are corniced, and the second floor centre windows are topped with pediments. The windows originally had plate glass, although the ground floor windows have been replaced with 20th-century casements. A console cornice sits above the third floor, and a subsidiary cornice marks the attic. The buildings are listed for their group value alongside the houses in Kensington Gardens Square.
